Gaza Emergency Appeal

Gaza Emergency Appeal

Gaza is starving. Gaza is freezing. Gaza is still bleeding.

This is our Ummah — and they need us now more than ever.

What’s Happening in Gaza?

  • Nearly 2 million people are now confined to just 12% of the Gaza Strip due to displacement orders and militarised zones.

  • Entire neighbourhoods have been destroyed, leaving families to shelter in tents, schools, or the rubble of their homes.

  • At least 132,000 children under the age of five are at risk of acute malnutrition.

  • Winter conditions are worsening an already desperate situation, with cold nights, rain, and little protection.

The situation is deteriorating by the hour but your support through the Gaza Emergency Appeal can reach families clinging to survival.

Gaza Food Appeal

Hunger in Gaza is not just rising it’s devouring lives.

  • Around 1.6 million people are facing high levels of acute food insecurity.

  • More than 500,000 people are living in emergency-level hunger.

  • Over 100,000 people are now in catastrophic conditions, where starvation is a daily reality.

  • Parents are routinely skipping meals so their children can eat.

Gaza’s food appeal isn’t about extras  it’s about helping people make it through another day. A single food parcel can give a family dignity and warmth at a time when the world feels so cold.

“He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour goes hungry.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Bukhari)

Gaza Water Appeal

In Gaza, thirst is constant. Water is polluted, scarce, and often unreachable.

  • 93% of households are facing water insecurity.

  • More than 75% of water wells are no longer operational.

  • Around 100,000 metres (62 miles) of water pipelines have been damaged.

  • 85% of public works and repair equipment has been destroyed.

This Gaza Emergency Appeal gives families something as basic and beautiful as clean water a mercy we take for granted, yet one they wait hours for daily.

“The best form of charity is giving water to drink.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Ahmad)

Gaza Zakat Appeal

Zakat is not optional charity. It is a command from Allah, a pillar of Islam, and a right owed to the poor. In Gaza today, countless families have been stripped of income, shelter, and security — leaving them among those whom Allah has explicitly named as rightful recipients of Zakat.

Allah says:

“Take from their wealth charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke blessings upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them.”
(Qur’an 9:103)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made the obligation of Zakat clear and unmistakable.

“Islam is built upon five: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving Zakat, performing Hajj, and fasting Ramadan.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Giving your Zakat through the Gaza Emergency Appeal is a way to fulfil an obligation, purify your wealth, and stand with those whom Allah Himself has prioritised. In a time of such injustice and hardship, let your Zakat be a source of mercy, relief, and balance exactly as it was intended to be.

Gaza Winter Appeal

When the sun sets in Gaza, the cold creeps in and there is nowhere warm to hide.

  • Night-time temperatures regularly fall below 7°C (45°F).

  • Families are living in damp tents and makeshift shelters with no insulation.

  • Infants are particularly vulnerable to hypothermia and respiratory illness.
  • Ongoing winter storms have flooded shelters and destroyed what little protection families had.

Winter doesn’t wait. Through the Gaza Emergency Appeal, you can help a child stay warm tonight. It may seem small  but to them, it’s everything.

FAQs

1. What is the Gaza Emergency Appeal?

The Gaza Emergency Appeal is a humanitarian effort that aims to provide life‑saving food, water, shelter, winter support and essential relief to civilians in Gaza who are suffering due to conflict, displacement, and collapsing services.

2. Why is Gaza facing such a humanitarian crisis?

Gaza’s crisis stems from prolonged conflict, mass displacement, damage to infrastructure, restricted deliveries of aid and shortages of food, clean water, medicine and shelter. Millions now lack access to basic necessities.

3. Who is most affected by the crisis in Gaza?

The most vulnerable are children, the elderly, people with disabilities, displaced families and those who have lost homes and livelihoods. Many are living in overcrowded shelters with little access to food, clean water and healthcare.

4. Is there a shortage of food in Gaza?

Yes. A very large portion of Gaza’s population is experiencing severe food insecurity, with widespread hunger and growing cases of malnutrition because supplies and deliveries cannot meet the urgent needs.

5. Why is clean water scarce in Gaza?

Water systems have been critically damaged by conflict and blockade conditions. Most households do not have reliable access to clean drinking water, leading many to rely on unsafe sources which increase health risks.

6. Can humanitarian aid actually reach people in Gaza?

Aid organisations are working hard to deliver food, water and relief items despite access limitations and security challenges. Progress is slow, and deliveries are often constrained by ongoing conflict and administrative barriers.

7. How is the aid distributed in Gaza?

Humanitarian organisations coordinate through local partners and international bodies to reach the most vulnerable based on need assessments, focusing on displaced families, children, the elderly, and households without access to essentials.

8. What kinds of aid are most needed right now?

The most urgent needs in Gaza are food, clean drinking water, medical supplies, hygiene items, shelter materials and winter protection as temperatures drop. Aid must cover both immediate survival and longer‑term wellbeing.

9. How do people in Gaza survive with limited shelter?

Many families are living in tents, unfinished buildings or damaged homes with limited protection from weather, heat or cold. Winter conditions make survival even harder for infants, older people and the sick.

10. What role does the ceasefire play in humanitarian access?

Ceasefires can open opportunities for increased aid entry and safer delivery, but humanitarian access remains inconsistent and insufficient to meet the enormous needs across the territory.

11. Why are people displaced inside Gaza?

Repeated fighting and bombardments have forced most families to flee their homes, pushing them into a smaller portion of Gaza where services are already strained and basic needs are hard to meet.

12. How long has the crisis in Gaza been ongoing?

The humanitarian crisis has deep roots from repeated cycles of conflict, blockade conditions and restricted access to goods and services over many years, but recent escalations have dramatically worsened the situation.

13. Are children affected differently in this crisis?

Yes. Children are disproportionately affected by hunger, malnutrition, lack of clean water and unstable living conditions. Many are displaced and face higher risk of illness, trauma and long‑term developmental harm.

14. Why is humanitarian aid still limited?

Deliveries are restricted due to conflict, damage to crossings and infrastructure, security concerns, and bureaucratic hurdles, meaning many supplies cannot reach those in need at the pace required.

15. What else can people do to help Gaza besides donating?

People can raise awareness, share reliable information, advocate for safe humanitarian access and support respected organisations working transparently to deliver aid on the ground.
